The Cuban Revolution has just celebrated its fiftieth anniversary in power. It was a movement that was in the beginning the majority backing of the population, it signified the end of a tyranny and a promise to restore the Republic, with its constitution, its laws and its democratic system.
Few suspected then that he began in January 1959, the destruction of the Republic, the definitive suspension of the Constitution of 40, free elections, basic freedoms, the executions after summary trials and the mob violence at rallies of repudiation, the outlawing of all political associations, economic, educational, social and cultural independent and one-party state, the suppression of churches and its adherents, the absolute control of the economy from the central government as the most effective instrument of subjugation, the elimination of the independent press, and the division of families, exile and political prisoner largest in our history; the establishment of a totalitarian system that would allow the new leader to impose his will on the country for the next 50 years.
However, despite the more crude and cruel repression against an entire people, and after using the same people to suppress, and have made us wary and afraid of each other, have now raised more never voices in Cuba who refuse to be oppressed and demand together with all free men of history inalienable rights given by the creator to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
